LONG AGO, A VIERA GIRL LOOKED UPON THE STARRY SKIES OF OTHARD. The sky rained it's secrets upon her, as the starlight scattered and danced upon her skin. The Aether was speaking to her, and she heeded their greetings. Thus began a chain of events that would change everything. She could never go back. The wheel was now in motion, and it spun towards disaster, redemption, and discovery.

Lilia was born with exceptionally high sensitivtiy to the Mist - or, as it is known in Eorzea, the Aether. While the Viera are naturally Aether sensitive, Lilia was an anomaly in her village, who largely rejected Magick in favour of a pastoral lifestyle.
As an aspirant of Veena society, her expectations and responsibilities were that of a caretaker and a homemaker; a tender of nature; a future mother. Such was her lot, though she had little competence in this regard. By and large, the girl was considered a runt. And a failure. Her only hope for greatness lied within the Mist.
She would retreat into seclusion, reaching further into the Aether and peering deeper. In poking and prodding with powers that she did not comprehend, she would come to enjoy the boons and suffer the consequences of practicing Magick with no guidance or tutelage. Her family and her community admonished her for her reckless behaviour, seeing it as a threat to their safety and security.
While the details of the incident aren't clearly detailed, Lilia was exiled from Skatay after a disaster that devastated her home and drew the attention of the Garleans, who had their eye on the area. Lilia was ultimately wanted by the Garlean Empire after the incident, and spent years avoiding their capture.
Tempt fate and fate will come
A prodigy, or a curse?
The girl arrived in Limsa Lominsa following her exile, where she would take up permanent residence. She abandoned Magick for some time, before rekindling her passion with no small degree of encouragement from her newfound friends in La Noscea. The Limsan Guild of Arcanists, as well as the Thaumaturges' Guild in Ul'dah, extended invitations to her, but she rejected both, electing to operate as an independant Mage. Her studies led her to seek out an itinerant Red Mage who wandered the region, eventually convincing the man to teach her. She maintains no ties to any governing body or order of mages, primarily out of distrust. She works as a wholly independent aetherologist, scholar, and itinerant Red Mage, finding herself in every corner of Hydaelyn for one reason or another - whether it be for a noble purpose, or to cause mischief.Having spent far more time in La Noscea than she ever did in Othard, Lilia's personality has been heavily influenced by those around her during her most vulnerable; that being sailors, pirates and sellswords. While she is now considered an accomplished Red Mage and scholar, she is also known as a mysterious outlier in the wider community of Mages - her motivations not always clear, and her behaviour often an anachronism.

Geography
While she is based out of Limsa Lominsa, Lilia is known to frequent all corners of Eorzea - namely, Ishgard and Old sharlayan, as well as the far east. She avoids Mainland Othard when possibleNOTE
I (The writer) am a huge fan of opposites attracting. The more different from Lilia your character is, the more interested I'll be!She dabbles extensively in experiments using arcanima - if your character knows a thing or two about it, she might want to talk to you
Lilia is known to frequent drinking holes of all types, and is famously gregarious. The likelihood of your character running into her while she's getting a glass of wine is never zero.If your character has a problem that a Red Mage could solve (or potentailly make worse), she is able to be found by asking around in La Noscea for "the Red Rabbit."You can contact me on discord at .mistywinds. with any and all questions!
